BIGSTON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES PROVIDES ASSEMBLY CONTROL SYSTEMS TO KOMATSU AMERICA

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, ILLINOIS - March 8, 2002 -- Bigston Information Technologies, Inc. announced that it has completed implementation of an assembly control and tracking system for the new, state-of-the-art Komatsu America International Company's plant in Newberry, S.C.

Bigston IT, which develops control and tracking systems for complex manufacturing facilities, installed information systems to track production, manage assembly procedures and provide remote monitoring in a web-based environment for Komatsu. The system includes access from handheld wireless devices, touch-screen workstations and from Komatsu's worldwide intranet.

"We are pleased to provide Komatsu with the latest web-based technologies," said Norm Plummer, president of Bigston IT. "The Bigston system will give Komatsu a powerful, cost-effective solution to the challenges of made-to-order manufacturing. Our rapid implementation helped Komatsu get their systems at this new facility up and running in a short time-frame."

According to Masaharu Umezawa, Komatsu's Senior Supervisor - Manufacturing Engineering, "The Bigston system allows our assemblers to produce made-to-order product efficiently by accessing online work instructions and directing work-flow. The system also allows us to track production and monitor the status of individual products from anywhere in the world."

Komatsu America International Company is a fully owned subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd., the world's second largest manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.

Bigston IT is a subsidiary of Bigston USA, an electronics servicing organization. Bigston IT develops and licenses various software systems for tracking and monitoring manufacturing and distribution processes. Bigston IT also licenses software to manage document libraries. All Bigston systems are browser-based systems suitable for deployment on corporate intranets and extranets.
